ADD/ ADHD:Libby - Remediation of Severe Speech and Language Difficulties, ADD, Temper Tantrums and Ataxia in a four year old Parents summary of ongoing treatment. Our daughter is aged 4, she has been diagnosed with several conditions, nystagmus (wobbly eyes), ataxia (balance and co-ordination problems), severe speech and language difficulties and possible hearing difficulties, yet with no overall single diagnosis by Great Ormond Street. Due to these conditions she was very frustrated, leading to many bad temper tantrums and she stopped trying to communicate to us. She had many sleepless nights often waking in the early hours needing me to comfort her. After no intense speech therapy programme in place, we as parents turned to an alternative. We got in touch with EEG Neurofeedback back in June 1998. Not knowing what to expect we kept an open mind, now over half way through her treatment our daughter has become less frustrated with less tantrums, she is communicating more words, sleeping like a log and the improvement in her co-operation and attention has shocked us both. Lately she has become a very enjoyable little person to be with. With the support of our family, friends and EEG Neurofeedback we hope that she continues to improve and make good progress.
